Annual Conference Program Chair-Elect
The Annual Conference Program Chair-elect of the National Council on Family Relations serves a two-year term, one year as Conference Program Chair-elect (2012-2013), proceeding to Program Chair the following year (2013-2014), and planning the 2014 conference program for (place to be determined).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Member of the 2013 and 2014 Annual Conference Program Committee
- Select the 2014 Conference theme no later than spring 2013
- Select a theme from input from NCFR members, studied in both research and applied fields, and of interest in the city/state/region in which the conference will be held - (place to be determined).
- Make financial commitments that are within the budget provided by NCFR Headquarters.
- With the assistance and input from NCFR staff and members, identify plenary speakers for Conference - due by summer 2013
- Solicit ideas from members
- Speaker criteria
- Broad appeal to NCFR membership
- Well-known expert on topic
- Excellent public speaker
- Solid research base on topic
- Will make application of research and policy
- Reasonable speaker fee
6. Work with Conference Program Consultant to prepare the call for abstracts for the 2013 conference
7. Write articles for the NCFR Report
