Student/New Professional Program Representative

The Student/New Professional Program Representative serves as a member of the Annual Conference Program Committee for a two-year term.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Member of the Annual Conference Program Committee
  2. Attend Annual Conference Program Committee planning sessions during the Annual Conference and the Spring Planning Meeting
  3. Screen submissions that have been designated for S/NP sessions, using standardized criteria. Plan conference sessions. If there are not enough submissions or if submissions are of low quality, solicit and put together a program for S/NP sessions.
  4. Member of the NCFR Student Award Committee and the Cindy Winter Scholarship Award Committee responsible to read and score materials submitted for these awards.
  5. Assist in networking with students and new professionals
  6. Annual Conference responsibilities
  • Handle correspondence/phone calls from Student/New Professionals
  • Be available at the Annual Conference to deal with any questions
  • Oversee sessions sponsored by the Student/New Professionals
  • Attend Student/New Professional Leadership Council meeting
  • Attend Newcomers Reception
  • Attend NCFR Annual Business Meeting and Membership Forum
  • Be available for consultation with Student/New Professionals
