Family
Science Association Conference - Call for Proposals - St. George, Utah
The Family Science Association is seeking proposals for their
conference on Competent and
Convincing Teaching: Ideas and Ideologies. The conference
will be held in St. George, Utah on June 17 - 19, 2009 and will focus on the
role educators play as facilitators of learning rather than “stand and
deliver” experts using the theme of “Teaching Through Interaction and
Application.”
Proposals addressing best practices in the facilitation of learning
through interaction and application along with any pedagogical topics
related to the theme are especially encouraged, although all teaching
topics are welcome. Conference sessions are generally interactive
in nature. Proposals will be blind, peer-reviewed, and evaluated
on the basis of clarity, relevance and evidence of participant
involvement. Sessions are expected to be 25-30 minutes in length.
To submit, email a 1-2 page proposal along with a cover sheet that
includes author name(s),institution, postal address, email address, and
any equipment needed (LCD, overhead projector, TV/VCR/DVD, Internet
access) by March 20, 2009 to Katherine Chartier (Co-Chair) at katherine.chartier@aggiemail.usu.edu.
The scoring sheet used by reviewers is available on the Family Science
Association Website ink is: http://www.familyscienceassociation.org/
