Purpose:

The purpose of the Student/New Professional Best Paper Award is to recognize the most outstanding S/NP conference proposal that was accepted for presentation by the Ethnic Minorities Section. The submission can be any form (e.g., paper, poster, workshop) and must evidence completed research on a topic that has direct relevance to ethnic minority families.

Award (Plaque, Money, Recognition, etc.):

The award winner will receive a $300 cash award and a certificate.

Criteria:

  • All SNP proposals that are accepted for conference presentation in the EM Section will be considered for the award;
  • The proposal must clearly relate to ethnic minority families;
  • Proposals will be evaluated using the same criteria that NCFR uses to judge conference submissions including quality writing, clarity of purpose, theoretical framework, appropriate methods, complete results, thoughtful discussion.
  • Current membership in NCFR and the Ethnic Minorities Section

Nomination/Application Process:

All SNP proposals that are accepted for conference presentation in the EM Section will be considered for the award.

Deadline for Application:

The deadline is concurrent with the NCFR conference submission deadline.
