Purpose:

The International Section in an effort to encourage scholarship with a focus on international families offers a scholarship to assist with travel expenses to present original research at the National Council on Family Relations Annual Conference.

Award (Plaque, Money, Recognition, etc.):

The amount of funds awarded will be determined by the funds available and the number of qualified applicants. It is estimated that awards will be approximately $500.
NOTE: This award would be offered only if funds are available. Please check with the IN Section Chair prior to applying.

Criteria:

The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for the conference travel scholarship.

• Must be an international student, international new professional (SNP), or faculty member/researcher attendee at the NCFR Annual Conference. Furthermore, your travel must originate from outside the United States or Canada. International is defined as NOT being a current resident of the United States or Canada. Thus, if you are an international student or professional currently living in the United States or Canada, you will not qualify for this award.
• Must attend and be recognized at the International Section annual meeting at the NCFR Annual Conference. If you are awarded a stipend, it will be presented at the annual meeting.
• Preference will be given to a person authoring or co-authoring a paper that is presented at the annual conference. The research should focus on an international family issue.
• Preference will be given to applicants from countries meeting the World Bank categories for lending eligibility.

Deadline for Application:
