Student/New Professional Conference Travel Scholarship
Purpose:
The International Section in an effort to encourage scholarship with a focus on international families and to foster student and new professional (SNP) research in this area offers a scholarship to assist with travel expenses to present original research at the National Council on Family Relations Annual Conference.
Award (Plaque, Money, Recognition, etc.):
Two scholarships of $250 each will be made available as a contribution towards the travel costs of the SNP attending and presenting at the annual conference. Preference will be given to applicants from countries meeting the World Bank categories for lending eligibility.
NOTE: This award would be offered only if funds are available. Please check with the IN Section Chair prior to applying.
Criteria:
The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for the travel scholarship.
- Must be an international student or international new professional (SNP) attendee at the NCFR Annual Conference. International is defined as NOT being a current resident of the United States or Canada. Thus, if you are an international student currently living in the United States or Canada, you will not qualify for this award.
- Must attend and be recognized at the International Section annual meeting at NCFR.
- The SNP must be the first author on the research paper presented at the annual conference.
- Must present the paper at the annual conference
- The research must focus on an international family issue
Application Procedure
The application form must be submitted by email to the SNP representative of the International Section of NCFR by May 15th of the year of the conference. Please see the International Section website for a listing of section officers: http://www.ncfr.org/sections/in/section-officers.
