The full-day Conference is scheduled on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Wednesday, August 24 offers two, specialized half-day workshops designed for helping professionals, medical professionals, and caregivers.
This specialized conference is designed to assist professionals in the assessment, prevention and care of dementia patients. Updates regarding research of cure will also be included. Presentations will be presented by experienced professionals practicing and working in this field of study.
August 23 - Full-day Conference
Conference Topics to Include: Keynote Address: Successful Aging; Early Onset and Policy; Huntington's Disease; Nonpharmacological Approaches to Preventing and Responding to Distressing Behaviors; Pharmacological Approaches; Art & Recreation Therapy; A Caregiver's Personal Perspective; Traumatic Brain Injury; Nutritional Management for Alzheimer's Patients; End of Life Issues; and Listen to the Experts Presentation.
August 24 - Primary Caregivers in Home & Community (a.m.)
Half-day Workshop Topics to Include: Assessment and Planning: Talking with your M.D. and Comprehensive Planning Needs; Resource Fair for Identifying Services and Resources; Safety and Security Concerns: Driving Assessment and Risk Factors and Safety at Home. Workshop will wrap up with a special lunch presentation on Legal Issues.
August 24 - Primary Care for Medical and Other Professionals (p.m.)
Half-day Workshop Topics to Include: Workshop will open up with a special lunch presentation on Legal Issues followed by Traumatic Brain Injury; Parkinson's Disease and Neurological Assessments.
