The Human Development and Family Studies undergraduate programat Michigan State University has met the Standards and Criteria required for the Provisional Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) designation from the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). This program includes appropriate course work for each of the ten family life content areas required for the CFLE designation.
The contest asked entrants to create materials to promote family life education

NCFR's FLE Month contest was held to encourage family students and professionals to develop materials that family life educators can use to promote family life education and FLE Month.
NCFR is looking for three new members of the Certified Family Life Educator Advisory Board. The three available positions for 2013 include two Academic Representative positions, and one Employer Representative position. These positions will be filled through an election by current Certified Family Life Educators.

A report from the student affiliate at Samford University
Katrina Brown and Melissa Belflower are president and vice president of the student chapter of NCFR at Samford University. Under their leadership this student chapter has tripled its attendance rates. One of their focus areas is raising student awareness of the CFLE designation.
The CFLE Reception at the NCFR Annual Conference provided an opportunity for CFLEs to gather together to celebrate the contributions of CFLEs to the success of the CFLE program. The generosity of a number of individuals and programs helped to make the CFLE Reception possible.
