Outstanding Student/New Professional Paper Award

Purpose:

To recognize outstanding professional achievement by awarding an award to the best student or new professional paper.

Award (Plaque, Money, Recognition, where presented, etc.):

The award winner will receive a $200 cash award and a certificate. The award is presented annually at the Family and Health Section Business Meeting at the Annual Conference.

Criteria:

  • A student who is seeking a degree in human development, family studies, family sciences, health, psychology, sociology, or related field.
  • A new professional who is a professional graduating in a field of study related to NCFR's mission and working in the field for less than five years.
  • Current membership in NCFR and the Family Health Section

Nomination/Application Process:

  • A notice will be sent to all Family Health Section members by August 31st each year announcing the opportunity to submit a paper for evaluation for this award.
  • Each paper will be submitted via email attachment using MS Word and written in APA formatting.
  • Each paper will be limited to 20 pages including reference pages and attachments.  Only scholarly papers will be considered. Scholarly papers are considered research, professional review, theoretical development or critique, or presentation of new methodology papers.

Deadline for Application:

Application deadline is October 1st.
