Data Training and Users Workshop for the Longitudinal Study of Generations

July 26, 2012 - July 27, 2012
Park City, Utah
ICPSR

This two day summer workshop in beautiful Park City is designed to train researchers interested in analyzing data from the Longitudinal Study of Generations. The LSOG is a long-term study of 3,500 individuals from more than 400 four-generation Southern California families who have been surveyed eight times between 1971 and 2006. Family members in the study range from 16 years of age to centenarians. The LSOG provides an opportunity to study various aspects of intergenerational and marital relationships (closeness, contact, support, and care), social values, filial norms, religious beliefs, and physical and mental health over the life course. The LSOG is unique for its full family design and long follow-up period. The workshop will provide an overview of the design and content of the study and hands-on training in manipulating and analyzing LSOG data. For additional information about the data set visit: http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/NACDA/studies/22100.

Interested parties must apply to participate in the workshop. Travel/lodging costs will be covered for those invited to attend. Additional details can be found at: http://www.usc.edu/dept/gero/files/LSOG_workshop.pdf
