Eligibility for Nomination

NCFR members in good standing are eligible for nomination for officers, directors of the Board, Fellowship Committee and Elections Council. Additional considerations include, but are not limited to:
  • Knowledge and/or experience in areas reflecting board trends in Family Science in the United States or internationally.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with policy governance and the development of ENDS policies.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in leadership roles through Sections, Association of Councils, Elections Council, Conference planning, publishing, public policy, or other committee work.
  • Diversity in race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender, age, physical ability, and religion.
  • Diversity in educational training.
  • Diversity of geographic location.
  • Diversity in employment and/or professional settings.
  • Special characteristics identified by the Board of Directors and charged to the Elections council before the call for nominations is developed.
The Elections Council will ensure that each Board has members who have demonstrated special sensitivity and accomplishments in diversity issues in NCFR and the broader society.
