Adolph Meyer’s Second term as President was marked by improved organization and planning of the annual conference, changes in the by-laws and constitution to allow state and regional leaders to be members of the advisory council.
The 1940 officers were: Adolf Meyer, MD, President; Ernest R. Groves, Vice President; Ernest W. Burgess, Secretary/treasurer, and Mary K White, Executive Director.
The Award of Merit in 1940 was given to Chester Garfield Vernier with the following citation: "Law teacher, Pioneer in the Statutory Law of Family Relations."
