Money HabitudesTM introduces teens to the human side of money - the subconscious factors that dictate how people actually relate to money, regardless of financial skills or economic status. Important precursor to financial literacy courses, the material help teens identify their personal financial patterns, how these affect their goals and relationships, and ways to use this knowledge to be more successful.
How can we have more meaningful relationships? Professors Ben Karney and Tom Bradbury from UCLA have created a series of YouTube videos on relationships for PBS. In this video, Professors Karney & Bradbury describe the importance of close relationships in our lives. Dr. Karney will be one of our plenary speakers at the annual conference in November!
Child Trends analyzed data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health). Results of our analyses indicate that young adult relationships are fairly diverse; that these relationships have both positive and negative dimensions; and that partner and relationship characteristics and patterns of contraceptive use vary considerably by relationship type, gender, and race/ethnicity.
We are now accepting proposals from prospective guest editors for special issues of the Journal of Family Theory & Review. Our intention is to provide opportunities to advance theory and develop integrative reviews in key areas of family studies.
