Why Join NCFR? Whether you are a student, a new professional, have an established career or if you're enjoying a rewarding retirement, NCFR membership is for you! Early career members report that the journals are fundamental to professional growth. Networking with established scholars has changed the lives of many up-and-coming scholars. NCFR student members can also be the first to hear of family research and practice job openings as they approach graduation.

For those in mid-career, professional networking is vital. At each annual conference, you will see groups of colleagues lingering over lunch and engrossed in conversation. Shortly thereafter you may see their names appear the follow year as co-authors of an article or a conference proposal. Many professionals have heard about job openings by being a member. There have been many mentoring and collaborative relationships formed because of NCFR membership.

For our Emeritus members, this is your time to provide the leadership and guidance to the organization that you have developed through your long, successful career. Those with 25 or more years of NCFR membership belong to our elite Legacy Circle, who are honored at each annual conference.

Who is providing the nation and the world with the latest family research? Who is adapting this research into applied methods, curricula and resources that have life-enhancing influence on families? Who is building the field of Family Life Education and promoting the Certified Family Life Educator credential? Who is interpreting family research to inform policymakers about the impact of family legislation? They're members of NCFR like you.
