The Domains of Family Practice Model: Strategies for Application
Presented by: Judith A. Myers-Walls, Sharon M. Ballard, Carol A. Darling, Karen S. Myers-Bowman
Since the first efforts in Family Life Education were begun, there has been a struggle to define this new and growing field. The overlap among family-serving professions has been confusing for both professionals and families. In 2010 a new model to define the domains and boundaries of family practice was introduced. This session will build on those efforts by sharing methods for using the Domains of Family Practice model. Strategies will be shared for using the model with employers and established community professionals, students and new professionals, professors and trainers, and advisors and career/employment counselors.
