Building successful affiliates requires connecting with a strong campus presence by being a part of the student government, providing programming that is appealing to students, and networking with professionals. Students must learn the value of professionalism as role-modeled by faculty members and advisors through attending conferences and sharing with local professionals. With this type of encouragement, a student affiliate can grow to a viable organization.
