Designing Online Family Life Education

Presented by: Robert Hughes, Jr., Jill Bowers, Sarah Curtis, Aaron T. Ebata, Elissa Thomann Mitchell, David G. Schramm, Graham McCaulley, Francesca Adler-Baeder, Vicky Gelatt, John Seeley

The internet has become the primary tool to find information and learn about important family life issues.  At present most family life education textbooks devote relatively little attention to the growth of online materials and still focus primarily on traditional means of delivery.  This symposium brings together family life educators who have developed online educational programs to describe the conceptual models, instructional design, online instructional tools (e.g., use of video interviews, guided exploration) and the general processes of design, implementation and evaluation that are essential to the creation of high-quality, evidence-based online family life education.
