Federal welfare (and other) policies tend to follow a one-size-fits-all approach with no recognition of the unique challenges that rural residents face as they strive to support their families through employment.  Symposium speakers will highlight some of the innovative proposals that have been made, as well as ideas for proposals that arose out of the RFS findings.  The following topics will be covered:  Employment, physical and mental health and health care, child care, and resources.
