Past Participation With a Student Affiliate: Benefits and Suggestions for Future Directions.

A three part workshop integrates the dissemination of research and an interactive workshop experience. Two workshop components present mixed-methods research findings. The research addresses: 1) current and future expectation of benefit of current student participants and the reflective analysis of past participation of current new family science professionals who are former student members, and 2) documentation of the goals and activities of NCFR student affiliates. The final component of the workshop is an interactive opportunity to integrate research findings with attendees' personal experiences. The research and workshop fill a gap in the knowledge regarding participation in a student organization.
