What I Wish I Would Have Known When I Was a Student: Successful Navigation of Graduate School

Presented by: Rebecca Ward, I. Joyce Chang, Deborah Padgett Coehlo

With increasing scarcity of employment and financial hardship, many students have looked at graduate school as a viable alternative to entering the job market.  When students aim for advanced degrees in higher education, the emphasis has traditionally been on academic preparation.  Other important factors, such as committee establishment and mentor selection are rarely discussed.  The purpose of the proposed panel presentation/workshop is to provide current and prospective graduate students with a forum to discuss tangible and intangible resources that may ensure a successful graduate school experience.
