Predictors of Health Outcomes and Health Risk Behavior of African American Emerging Adults
A myriad of factors have been found to impact the health outcomes of African Americans adult. Past research has documented the association between factors such as racial discrimination, romantic relationship quality, and parenting and health outcomes (Wickrama, Lorenz, & Conger, 1997). Little, however, is known about the effects of such predictors on African American emerging adult health outcomes and health risk behavior. Guided by developmental and life course perspectives, the four papers in this session explore various predictors on health outcomes and health risk behavior of African American emerging adults.
