The American Academy of Pediatrics weighed in on infant sleep training based on new research. Interventions of “controlled comforting” and “camping out” were determined not harmful and encouraged good infant sleep habits.  “The improvements to children’s and mothers’ sleep and mothers’ mental health were still evident as late as age 2, then faded by age 6.” It’s important to note that infant sleep interventions were not administered to infants under 7 months of age.
