The Journal of Latino-Latin American Studies (JOLLAS) invites manuscripts for two Special Issues on Latino and Latin American families.  These Special Issues will feature research about Latino families across all of Latin America and North America.  One will feature issues surrounding migration—how families adapt, difficulties they face, impacts on children’s education and family structures, macro and comparative demographic trends.  One will feature changes in families in a more micro sense—changes in work and families, gender relationships, marriage and relationship dynamics, and Latino family circumstances more generally.  The goal of the issues is to extend our understanding of the complexities that particularly affect Latino/Latin American families and to provide a rich body of research to inform policies. The issue editor is especially interested in proposals that promise to extend our demographic understanding of Latino/Latin American families, as well as work that explores family issues facing particular groups. Potential contributors are asked to submit a letter of intent by Monday, January 16, 2012.  Letters of intent and any questions may be sent electronically to the issue editor, Dr. Mary Ann Powell at: maryannpowell@unomaha.edu. Manuscripts should be in English and in APA Style.
