NCFR Book Club

It's not too late to join us
February 08, 2011

This spring we're going to have another book club meeting. We are reading and will discuss Stephanie Coontz's new book A Strange Stirring: The Feminine Mystique and American Women at the Dawn of the 1960s.  Stephanie is an NCFR member and an eminent family historian - The author of The Way we Never Were, The Way we Really Are, and Marriage - A History.  Her latest work tells the stories of the generation of women who were most influenced by Betty Friedan, and analyzes the relevance, then and now, of her book. Interested?  Please contact Nancy Gonzalez at nancygonzalez@ncfr.org to express your interest. Buy the book, have a great winter read, and then we will schedule a discussion time in early spring. You do not have to be an NCFR member to take part in our Book Club.  Ms.Coontz will join us for the final 20 minutes of our meeting.
