About three-quarters of parents living with children are married, while 16 percent have no partner present, and 8 percent cohabitate, according to new tabulations from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The table package "America's Families and Living Arrangements: 2013," which uses data from the 2013 Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current Population Survey, provides a current portrait of the composition of families and households and shows historical changes in living arrangements in the United States. New for 2013 is a table that profiles American parents living with their children.

The tables also show that 86 percent of fathers living with children have a spouse present, while this is the case for 67 percent of mothers.
