Parent and Child Mental Health programs
The Minnesota Association for Family and Early Education (MNAFEE) & The Minnesota Association for Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health will hold Professional Development Workshops on Parent and Child Mental Health. The theme is Within the Context of Relationships: Parental Mental Health and the Social-Emotional Development of Children. These workshops will be held in many locations throughout Minnesota.
Workshop description: Because early development unfolds within the parent-child relationship, effective work with very young children requires that we understand the challenges of their parents. Among those challenges are parental mental health and the social-emotional development of their children. This day long training offers an overview of the developmental process of mental health, risk factors that can derail this development, and strategies for identifying and working with young children and their parents with mental health difficulties.
