Joyce Arditti

Joyce A. Arditti Named NCFR Fellow

Joyce Arditti, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, in Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Arditti served as the Editor for one of NCFR's scholarly journals, Family Relations: Interdisciplinary Journal of Applied Family Studies, for five years. She has served on the editorial boards/associate editorships of other journals as well. In additional to serving as an assistant and associate professor at Virginia, she was a visiting scholar at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. Joyce has been a consistent and prolific writer in professional journals, books/chapters, and other research publications.

Andrew Cherlin

Andrew Cherlin Named NCFR Fellow

Andrew Cherlin, Ph.D., Benjamin H. Griswold III Professor of Public Policy and Sociology at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Cherlin is considered among the most prominent experts and pioneers in the field of family studies. His work is accessible to family professionals and lay audiences. Dr. Cherlin is a recognized authority on divorce, remarriage, stepfamilies, cohabitation, family trends, poverty and child well-being. He has authored many popular books and over 80 scholarly articles.

 

Arminta Jacobson

Arminta Jacobson Named NCFR Fellow

Arminta Jacobson, Ph.D. is the Elaine Millikan Mathes Professor at the University of North Texas (UNT). She is the founding director of the Center for Parent Education (CPE) and for 19 years has directed the Annual Conference on Parent Education, a national/international forum for exchange of knowledge and networking among researchers and practitioners. Under her leadership the Center for Parent Education has been a leader in the field of parent education and has served as a model for other states. She has also provided leadership for the development of Parent Teacher Education Connection and nationally disseminated online training modules for pre-service teachers which are incorporated into college classes across the nation.
