Privacy Policy

The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and values your privacy and recognizes the sensitivity of your personal information. NCFR staff shares the same concerns. Together, we work towards protecting your privacy. We have carefully crafted NCFR's Privacy Policy to address any concerns you might have, and to assure you that your personal information, if provided to us, will be treated carefully and appropriately.

No Computer Tracking of Identifiable Information

NCFR's web site does not track, collect or distribute personal information about visitors. Only aggregate data ‐‐ such as the number of hits per page ‐‐ are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

Information Collection

The National Council on Family Relations collects a variety of demographic and descriptive data about its members. The data are collected within the members‐only section of the NCFR web site as well as on the NCFR membership application. Other than the required basic contact information, members have control over what information they choose to provide.

Information Uses

NCFR uses these data to communicate directly with members as well as for staff to better provide benefits and services to the membership. Contact information is also made available to other NCFR members. Members have control over what information is made available. NCFR also makes name and mailing address information available to third parties who are identified as providing information deemed likely to be of interest to the NCFR membership.

Choice/Opt‐out

We provide you with the opportunity to opt‐out of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes. If you are a member of NCFR or ordered a product or service from NCFR and no longer wish to receive promotional communications, you may opt‐out of receiving such communications by contacting NCFR at info@ncfr.org or at 763‐781‐9331.

Member Mail and E‐mail Offers

All NCFR members will receive periodic Member Mail via e‐mail. Because Member Mail is an important part of NCFR's service to you, users cannot opt‐out of receiving Member Mail.

Third Party Websites

The NCFR website may provide you with links to the web sites of third parties, although we do not necessarily advise that you are linking to another website. In the event you choose to access such web sites, NCFR is not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties. Further, please note that the third party's privacy policy and security practices may differ from NCFR standards. NCFR assumes no responsibility nor does it control, endorse or guarantee any aspect of your use of the linked site. We recommend that you check the applicable privacy policy of such party before providing personally identifiable information to it, as its privacy policy may differ from NCFR's.

International users

If you are an international user, you agree that NCFR may collect, use and transfer your personal information as described in this privacy policy, including transfers outside the country where you live. If you reside in a country in the European Union or other jurisdiction that provides access rights under law, you may access your personal information or have it corrected or updated by going to your account information page and personally updating the information.
