The purpose of this award is to provide support for the completion of an approved doctoral dissertation with a focus on issues impacting ethnic minority families.
The Journal of Latino-Latin American Studies (JOLLAS) invites manuscripts for two Special Issues on Latino and Latin American families. Potential contributors are asked to submit a letter of intent by Monday, January 16, 2012.
This award, presented by NCFR's Ethnic Minorities Section, was established for the purpose of recognizing distinguished scholars, researchers and practitioners who have made significant contributions to the areas of ethnic minorities families. The award is presented in memory of Marie E. Peters who was a distinguished scholar, researcher, practitioner, and mentor, as well as an illustrious member of NCFR, a Board Member, and the Ethnic Minorities Section leader.

Political and economic turmoil have challenged the stability of family life and national heritage in Ukraine for several decades. In an effort to highlight my Ukrainian roots and shed light on a unique group of White ethnics, I discuss intergenerational relationships, such as that of grandparent and grandchild, within the context of Ukrainian-American culture.
