Section Awards

The National Council on Family Relations, the NCFR Sections, and the Affiliate Councils have established modes of appreciation to recognize those individuals/groups that further the interests of the organization and/or exemplify the standards to which members aspire.These are distinguished colleagues who have unselfishly dedicated themselves to working in the family field, and have given outstanding service. NCFR provides a vehicle for honoring these people through its Awards program.

John L. and Harriette P. McAdoo Dissertation Award

As eminent scholars and educators, Drs. John L. and Harriette P. McAdoo made significant contributions to the scholarship on ethnic minority families., especially our understanding of African Americans' familial experiences.

Marie E. Peters Award

The Marie E. Peters award recognizes distinguished scholars, researchers, and practitioners who have made significant contributions to the area of ethnic minority families.

Student/New Professionl Best Paper Award

The Student/New Professional Best Paper Award recognizes the most outstanding S/NP conference proposal that was accepted for presentation by the Ethnic Minorities Section.
