Affiliate Councils Award for Meritorious Service
Purpose
This award recognizes the service of affiliate members within their local, state and regional council. Up to five Meritorious Service Awards will be given each year to deserving candidates who have been chosen from nominees who fulfill the criteria (note different criteria for university faculty members and community members.) Presented annually.
Award (Plaque, Money, Recognition, where presented, etc.)
The award winner receives a plaque which will be awarded at the Affiliate Councils Annual Business Meeting.
Criteria
- Must have three or more years of continuous involvement in their local/regional affiliate
- Must have served at least one term as a local/regional board member or state officer.
- Must have strengthened contact and participation in NCFR.
- For university faculty: Must have served as a mentor of a student in a research project that was presented at a state or regional conference or assisted in forming and/or sponsoring the student chapter in his/her university.
- For non-university members: Must have provided a significant leadership role in community service for public policy on behalf of the affiliate.
Nomination/Application Process
- Nominees or nominators must fill out the application form.
- Nominees must include documentation of the criteria listed above.
Deadline for Applications
Application deadline is June 30. All materials may be submitted electronically to lyndabessey@ncfr.org. The winner will be notified by July 31.
