Megan Haselschwerdt, Ph.D., University of Tennessee, Knoxville
The award is intended to recognize outstanding scholarly work by a student or new professional member of the Research and Theory Section (RT).
The award winner receives a $200 cash award and a plaque. The award is presented at the Research and Theory Annual Meeting.

- must be a current member of NCFR and the Research and Theory Section; and
- have the highest-rated proposal submitted to the Section.
The winner is selected on the basis of the average rating from the peer reviews. The paper with the highest average score is selected as the winner.
