Students and New Professionals Program Representative
The Students and New Professionals Program Representative of the National Council on Family Relations serves as a member of the Annual Conference Program Committee for a two-year term (2025-2026), planning students and new professionals’ sessions for the 2025 conference program in Baltimore, Maryland, and the 2026 conference program in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Primary Responsibilities
- Member of the Annual Conference Program Committee.
A. Attend Annual Conference Program Committee planning meetings.
1. Before and During the Annual Conference.
2. Virtual planning meetings January through March.
3. At the Spring Annual Conference Planning Meeting.
B. Review conference proposal submissions that have been submitted to the SNPs, using standardized criteria. Plan three invited conference sessions.
- Member of the NCFR Student Award Committees.
A. Read and score materials submitted for NCFR Student Award.
B. Read and score materials submitted for the Cindy Winter Scholarship Award
C. Return materials to Students and New Professionals Board Representative who chairs the committees.
- Assist in networking students and new professionals.
- Annual Conference Responsibilities
A. Attend the Conference Program Planning Committee Meetings
B. Attend the SNP Invited Sessions
C. Attend SNP Leadership Council Meeting
D. Attend Newcomers’ Welcome
E. Attend SNP Networking Sessions
F. Be available for consultation with Students and New Professionals.
