Call for Articles: Winter 2024 & Spring 2024

/ CFLE Network, Fall 2023

I have consistently heard from potential authors that they had hoped to submit an article to Network but ran out of time. In an effort to give everyone more time, we will put out calls for articles with longer lead time.

The theme of the Winter 2024 issue of CFLE Network is Promoting and Running a Family Life Education Business. The submission deadline is December 15, 2023. We know that there are lots of stories out there. We would love to hear from people who have been successfully running a business for many years, those who are just starting, those who train others, and even those who gave up their business whatever their reason.

Examples of potential topics include the following:

  • Your story of how you started your business and what you do to keep it going

  • The rewards of running your business

  • The challenges Family Life Educators address as they start a new business

  • Resources that you have found to help you as you run or promote your business

  • What you know now that you wish you had known when you started

  • Stories highlighting multiple perspectives on what it is like to set up, run, and/or promote an FLE business

  • How you use data or research to help you on your journey

  • And so much more!

The theme of the Spring 2024 issue of CFLE Network is Family Life Education and the Court System. The submission deadline is March 15, 2024. Many Family Life Educators work with individuals and/or families who are involved with court system. For example, some parents are court-ordered to attend parenting classes as they prepare for reunification with their children, others must take co-parenting classes as part of divorce and custody proceedings, and still others work with the courts as their adolescent navigates the juvenile justice system. In this issue, we will explore the many ways that Family Life Educators support families as they traverse these complicated systems.

Examples of potential topics include the following:

  • Your story of what you do to support families involved with the justice system

  • The challenges you address as you work with the court system

  • Resources that you have found to help you as you do this important work

  • How your organization is making a positive difference for families involved with the justice system

  • Stories highlighting multiple perspectives on what it is like to be part of the court system

  • What the research tells us about how FLE can help families find their way out of the system

  • And so much more!

Review the author guidelines on the CFLE Network newsletter pageWhen you submit your article, please use our new CFLE Network Article Submission Form. As always, you are invited to email your ideas, intentions, and questions to Beth Magistad: [email protected]. I look forward to working with you!
