Family Science (B.A. and B.S.)

Department of Psychology, Counseling & Family Science

The family plays a crucial role our society, from infancy to old age. Family gives us a name, an identity and a unit to which we belong.

Be a part of serving, healing and preserving family systems as you study lifespan development and relational dynamics. Our Christian mission serves as the foundation for how we teach and serve. Obtain an education that ties seamlessly into your career goals by becoming an expert in one of our four concentrations. Apply what you’re learning in a real-world setting through a variety of service learning components and internships.

In the classroom, our seasoned faculty teaches from a family systems perspective, speaking to many iterations of what it means to be a family. As a senior, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to coordinate and present the annual Lipscomb Conference on Family Wellness, which brings national scholars, writers, practitioners and programs to campus. You’ll leave here well-equipped to serve families in dynamic settings.
