The Human Development and Family Sciences program at Texas Tech explores the science of development across the life span with a focus on relationships – within the family and among peers and reaches beyond home, family and school to relationships and development throughout the lifespan. Biological, cognitive, social, emotional, environmental, and cultural aspects of development are studied in the context of their impact on growth, change, risk, resilience and well-being over time.

Our bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Texas Tech University provides you with a pathway to endless possibilities including careers in social services, nonprofits, advocacy and teaching. In addition, it is a pathway to preparation for careers in professional healthcare, counseling, law and higher education.
