Individuals choosing a major in child development and family studies will be prepared for careers working with young children and their families, and may select a professional focus from a wide variety of areas, including child care specialist, early childhood daycare teacher, developmental specialist, child life educator. Field placements offer students an opportunity to apply classroom theory in real world settings.
