Sioux Falls Seminary (formerly NABS) offers the 62 credit hour master of arts in marriage and family therapy (MAMFT) program in the context of an evangelical Christian seminary. This degree is designed to prepare students for careers as theologically informed marriage and family therapists in a wide variety of settings. The seminary owns and operates Sioux Falls Psychological Services (the largest multi-disciplinary private practice agency in the city). The MAMFT program's on-site Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic is a respected United Way Agency sharing administrative resources and physical facilities with SFPS. All supervision is done by AAMFT Approved Supervisors operating from a variety of theoretical perspectives within a systemic framework. Group and individual supervision is required each week within direct observation, DVD recording, and case consultation formats. The MAMFT program is academically and clinically rigorous and designed to facilitate students' progress toward LMFT licensure in most states and provinces.
