Search Tips

For more precise search results when searching for an institution, try using a key term from the institution's name (e.g. Missouri when looking for the University of Missouri) or writing the entire name of the institution in quotation marks (e.g. "University of Missouri").

The Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Briercrest Seminary is designed to provide the academic requirements for non-accredited programs for students wishing to pursue membership in the AAMFT. A combination of resident full-time and adjunct faculty provides for a breadth and depth of exposure to the various fields necessary for a well-rounded preparation for the practice of marriage and family therapy. Academic courses are supplemented by experiential practicum and internship requirements that emphasize both the person-of-the-therapist, with an emphasis on narrative identity of the therapist arising out of family of origin narratives, and the skills of the therapist, with an emphasis on practices guided by the ideals of narrative therapy. Most core courses are offered in one week modules, with some courses offered online making our program flexible and available for non-resident students.
