Session I Title: Critical Preplanning Decisions: WHY and WHO do you want to serve?

Date: July 10, 2024, 11:30 am – 2:00 pm CST

New business owners must make foundational decisions when starting and/or growing a practice. It is important that people quickly understand who you are and why you do it. In part 1 of the training, Jody Johnston Pawel will discuss key planning issues and decisions to consider when starting a non-profit or for-profit business.

Attendees will leave this training with the ability to:

  • Articulate your WHY, which motivates and inspires you while busting through common beliefs that can become barriers to your success;
  • Identify WHO you will serve, your target market and ideal client; and
  • Recognize your niche to focus on WHO you will specifically serve rather than trying to serve everyone.

Session II Title: Determining Program Content and Online Presence: WHAT will you offer? HOW will people learn about your services?

Date: July 17, 2024, 11:30 am – 2:00 pm CST

After answering the foundational questions of why and who you want to serve, Family Life Educators starting a new FLE business must decide what products or programs to offer, how much time and money to spend creating educational products, and what methods to use to attract clients. It's important to strategically plan ways to approach these common challenges. In part 2 of this training, Jody Johnston Pawel will build upon important foundational considerations from session one to discuss the basics of chronologically planning, pricing, and creating programs and services. The presenter will also address the creation of a website as an important tool for spreading awareness about your practice, including maintaining engagement and facilitating navigation of the website to help expand your visibility.

This session will build upon the foundational information determined in Critical Preplanning Decisions: WHY and WHO do you want to serve?

Attendees will leave this training with the ability to:

  • Create content for multiple streams of income;
  • Organize and map content to connect clients to desired resources and programs; and
  • Develop an impactful website.

Session III Title: Marketing and Growth: WHERE will your ideal clients find you and WHEN to prepare for long-term growth?

Date: July 24, 2024, 11:30 am – 2:00 pm CST

Marketing is about increasing one’s visibility as a reliable trustworthy source of information. In the case of providing FLE, clients will want to know where to find you, and about the types of problems you solve and solutions you offer, and how you can help them. In part 3 of this training, Jody Johston Pawel will share how to create a multifaceted marketing approach that allows your business to grow and leave a legacy that will live long past your retirement.

This session will build upon the information provided in Determining Program Content and Online Presence: WHAT will you offer? HOW will people learn about your services?

Attendees will leave this training with the ability to:

  • Market your practice through informational and educational methods that build relationships and your business;
  • Use marketing strategies to increase the number of families locally or worldwide you serve; and
  • Create a legacy you can leave on autopilot when you retire (early?).
