Language brokering is defined as a child translating language for their parents or for other adults who are less able to understand the prominent language. This presentation will start with a summary of research surrounding the effects of language brokering on the family. Connecting the research to practice will then be done by a practitioner working in the field with language brokering families. 

Approved for 1 hour of CFLE continuing education credit.
