Practitioners can become emotionally exhausted when working with clients who have experienced traumatic events. If not recognized and managed properly, this secondary trauma can result in reduced job satisfaction and overall decrease in quality of life. It can also impact practitioners’ families, colleagues, and clients.

In this webinar, you will learn how to recognize secondary trauma and receive tools to manage it.

Presenter Naketta Lowery, CFLE, will discuss the impact of secondary trauma on those in the helping professions. Specifically, she will explain what trauma, fatigue, or burnout might look like for someone who works with families. She will also teach you how to build your own Personal Resilience Plan (PRP) to handle the effects of secondary trauma.

By attending this webinar, you'll be able to:

  • explain the potential impact of secondary trauma on helping professionals;
  • understand the difference between compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout; and
  • develop a Personal Resilience Plan to manage response to secondary trauma.

Approved for 1.5 hours of CFLE continuing education credit.
