The Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Marriage and Family Therapy is a post-master's program which can be completed in 2 years and is intended for applicants with a relevant master's degree who wish to re-specialize in marriage and family therapy. It provides the appropriate academic degree and a portion of the supervised clinical hours required for state licensing as a marriage and family therapist.

Offered through Seton Hall University's College of Education and Human Services, the Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). The accreditation period is effective May 1, 2014 through May 1, 2020.

The Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy program at Seton Hall University is the oldest in the state of New Jersey and one of the first in the nation. It is the only accredited marriage and family therapy program in the state, and features a solid academic curriculum, supervised clinical practice throughout the course of study, and systemic and multicultural emphases.
