The Family Science Association has planned the 2019 Teaching Family Science Conference for June 3-4 in Paradise Island, Bahamas. The theme is " Developing Interculturally Competent Family Science Professionals."

The call for proposals for the conference is posted online; proposals related to the conference theme will be accepted through Jan. 15, 2019.

From the call:

As educators, it’s imperative that we provide our students with the appropriate skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for competently working with individuals of differing abilities, ages, ethnicities/races, genders/sexual orientations, religions/spiritualties, and socioeconomic statuses. What are your favorite innovative or most effective teaching strategies to accomplish this goal? What skills, knowledge or beliefs were developed as a result of the practice? How do you help students examine biases as well as create an awareness of and increased sensitivity to diverse cultures? How are our students better prepared to work with individuals with an intercultural lens as a result of the activity?
