2020 Groves Conference On Marriage and Family
Update: March 30, 2020
Due to the concern for health during the Covid-19 pandemic, Groves Conference scheduled for June 2020 in Arlington, VA has been postponed until June 2021 (same place, same time). A new call for proposals and for policy briefs will be issued in the fall.
The 2020 Annual Groves Conference on Marriage and Family will be held June 16-19, 2020, in Arlington, Virginia. The theme for the conference is "Family Advocacy and Family Policy: Applying Family Research to Policy."
Families and individuals are influenced every day by the policies of various forms of government. Those who advocate for families can be instrumental in influencing the way lawmakers think about families, as well as the way policies are written. Often excellent research that could guide policymakers does not reach them, especially when the researcher fails to clearly explain how their research findings can be applied by policymakers.
Proposals are invited from Groves members and nonmembers (family scholars, practitioners, and community members) in a variety of presentation formats. Papers and posters submitted should have an emphasis on either policy or advocacy. The deadline for proposals is Dec. 20, 2019.
