This is your opportunity to dive into the National Extension Parent Education Model (NEPEM) and learn how to apply it to your parenting education programs.

In this webinar, presenter Silvia L. Vilches, Ph.D. will teach about parenting education tools including how to utilize the National Extension Parent Education Model of Critical Parenting Practices (NEPEM) and the logic model’s components during parent education. Descriptions and applications of these models and tools will be shared to promote better practices and priorities in parent education.

Dr. Vilches will guide attendees through the connection of NEPEM and logic models for planning tools and discuss how it can promote self-care for parenting educators.

By attending this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Apply NEPEM to the diversity of parenting education topics and delivery formats
  • Use simple logic model formats to plan knowledge, skills, and self-management outcomes

About the Presenter

Silvia L. Vilches, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of human development and family studies at Auburn University, and an early childhood extension specialist with Alabama Cooperative Extension System. She serves on the board for the free national Just in Time Parenting e-newsletter, and leads parenting education programming development and evaluation. Her recent research projects have examined rural early-intervention services and statewide community-based child neglect and prevention supports. She is a trained facilitator with Tuning in to Kids, a collection of parenting programs that revolve around emotional connections between parents and children.
