Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice
The Family and Consumer Sciences Education program seeks an energetic faculty member who is committed to the highest standards of scholarship and professional activities, and to the development of a campus climate that supports equality and diversity. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in face-to-face, online and hybrid formats. Evidence of effective teaching at the university level is required. In addition, the applicant will be expected to supervise student teachers or interns, perform student graduate advising, serve on thesis and dissertation committees, and provide service to the unit, the college, and the University as necessary. The preferred applicant will be an active leader in the profession. Evidence of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications in FCS journals is also preferred. The candidate should also display a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to serving diverse student populations. Salary commensurate with qualifications and rank.
Doctorate in Family and Consumer Sciences Education is required. ABDs majoring in FCSE will be considered. Applicant must hold a current teaching credential and have high school and/or middle school teaching experience, preferably teaching FCS. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.
