Abstract(s)
Experts in the field of Families and Health will present on how they are utilizing biological measures and innovative technologies in their families and health studies. For example, measures of stress via cortisol and electronic devices will be presented and the use of hair samples and blood draws to measure chronic and transient stress. In addition, presenters will discuss how they collaborate with other disciplines, such as medicine, neuroscience, and nursing to carry out research including biological measures. The studies represented across presenters are also from low-income and racially ethnically diverse households, and represent many developmental stages and phases of life.
Objectives
Participants will learn (1) how families and health researchers are utilizing biological measures in their research studies; (2) how families and health researchers are utilizing innovative technology in their research studies; (3) about results from four different studies utilizing biological and/or technology in carrying out families and health research across the life course.
