Overindulgence as a child has been linked to an inability to delay gratification, lack of gratitude and self-control, and an increase in materialistic values. Additionally, it can lead to life aspirations of wealth, fame, and self-image in place of meaningful relationships, personal growth and working for the betterment of society.

Jean Illsley Clarke, Ph.D., CFLE and David Bredehoft, Ph.D., CFLE, coauthors of the newly revised edition of How Much is Too Much? (Da Capo Press, 2014), discuss recent research on childhood overindulgence and its implications for parenting, grandparenting, and parent educators.

This webinar works on two level: cognitive and methodology. The Ginger Bread Man carries you though the nine important facts about overindulgence. Dave and Jean Clarke walk you through the facts with stories and interactive activities such as building your own Ginger Bread Man. Simultaneously you can evaluate using the pictogram method as a memory boosting way to incorporate nine different aspects into one coherent system.
