Amelia Rose awarded CFLE Emeritus status

Amelia I. Rose, Ph.D., CFLE has been awarded Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) Emeritus status in recognition of her multiple contributions to the field of family life education.

Dr. Rose is a consultant for Family Life Pathways, Inc. a small nonprofit where she provides premarital counseling and presents seminars in the areas of parenting, family dynamics, and interpersonal relationships. She is also the host of the Dr. Rose Radio Talk Show, a forum for addressing a variety of family life challenges and issues across the lifespan and exploring meaningful solutions.

Previously, Dr. Rose was employed with the Florida Department of Children and Families as an eligibility specialist and supervisor. Although the nature of the interventions was usually secondary and tertiary, she was able to introduce family life education principles and advocate for preventive approaches.

For several years, Dr. Rose worked as a community facilitator and parent education center manager for the Palm Beach County Children's Service Council (CSC). Her primary duties included conducting research, developing programs, and training in the field of parenting education. While at CSC, Dr. Rose used a prevention model similar to the 10 content areas of the CFLE credential to train para-professionals working with families. Over the course of her employment with CSC, she was instrumental in preparing more than 100 individuals outside of academia (social work) to apply for and receive the CFLE designation.

Dr. Rose has been an active CFLE since 2001. She served on the CFLE Advisory Board from 2010 to 2013 and was the recipient of the CFLE Special Recognition Award in 2014.

Emeritus status is an honorary status awarded to a small number of retired CFLEs who have made significant contributions to the field of family life education. Emeritus status recognizes the awardees' continued commitment to the field and lifetime affiliation with the CFLE program.
